Blog My Gaming/Blogging Life!

Hi there,

I decided to create something new, in honor of Draw my Life I decided to create Blog my Gaming Life which I think will be a lot of fun so you know more about me and how I started and why I blog a lot more than I should. If you didn't know by now I started my first Kingsisle game, Wizard101 after I saw a Wizard101 commercial on Cartoon Network on July 4th 2009. I thought it was a cool game since I was looking for a game at the time and decided to create an account while it was raining outside. Rain on July 4th if not fun and I really wanted to shoot fireworks but I'm glad I decided to come inside and watch some cartoons because I wouldn't be blogging right now right? :D Talking about blogging... now that you know how I got started here's what happened over the years that really got me blogging about Wizard101 and recently Pirate101.

2009-2010 (The Creation of Around the Spiral with Edward Lifegem)

When I first started Wizard101 I created my first ice wizard, Edward Wintergem. I thought the ice school would always be the toughest school on the game and I thought Frost Giant was the strongest spell ever and nothing could beat that spell... so really I knew all of the other schools couldn't add up to the ice school. :P I loved my ice wizard and leveled him up to 50 (at the time that was the level cap and there was no Celestia in 2009). I was kind of getting bored and decided to create a life wizard which I later deleted and then I created another one again  in 2010 with the same name, Edward Lifegem.. I leveled him up to level 50 by April 2010. In May 2010 my friend Mary told me that we should create a blog and blog like Friendly does about his adventures in the Spiral and all of the Wizard101 news. I decided to go along with that goal since friendly was and still is the Grandfather of Blogging! I was very excited and created my blog with Mary Dreamshade (Pie Loving Necromancer- no longer a Blog). I blogged a little bit in 2010 but didn't really like it too much at the time. I didn't know what to blog about, or even how to blog! My blog's name at the time was called Wizard101. LOL I know... silly name. I decided to take a long break from blogging and I officially started again in 2011 when the Pet Rock for Wizard101 was released.

2011-2012 (Bad Times/ Great Times :D)

Like I said above I officially started blogging again in 2011. I only blogged about Wizard101 only since Pirate101 wasn't released just yet... I did make a few posts about the 2nd Project but I thought I wouldn't be blogging or playing anymore by the time it was released. 2011 was okay but I had some bad times during the Summer after I created a group which ruined the way I looked for quite sometime. I know a few of you may know what this group is called and I haven't mentioned it for so long but since this is a Blog My Gaming/Blogging Life I'll mention it again.. Wizard City Protects/ WCP. I created this group to help WAC another group on Twitter which was exactly like it and the Hall Monitors now days. I did get in trouble and I didn't want to be banned so I told the entire group to quit this group and I quit myself and started well tried to blog again. The end of 2011 got worse in real life and I had to stop Blogging around Christmas 2011 for a few weeks. Now.. no more sadness! In 2012 I started blogging again after taking my break and it started to improve, I had a huge contest for Wizard101 which was a lot of fun. In April 2012 Kingsisle announced their second project, Pirate101 with a YouTube video and I knew that game was the next game I'd be addicted to. I loved the graphics and I couldn't get over it. In August 2012 I was sent an email to participate in Pirate101 and was obsessed with the game. Every morning I logged onto Pirate101 and leveled my Buccaneer until Beta ended... along with the Boochbeard Bundle that I want Kingsisle to release again even though I know it's retired! I joined on October 15th 2012 when Pirate101 was officially released to the public and created my first pirate... my Witchdoctor. Kingsisle/Pirate101 was accepting applications for official Pirate101 Fansites and I decided to submit. I wasn't accepted because my site looked just like a Wizard101 site and I changed it all around and on the third time of submitting I was accepted and I logged onto Twitter and everyone was telling me congratulations on making official. I was confused and shocked and looked at my email and to my surprise One Eyed Jack said I had made it on the Fansite List. I am very excited that this happened and still to this day I can't believe it but I'm trying my best to become the great Fansite Owner I know I can be thanks to all of my readers! If you look at the picture above, that's the first picture I took with my Blog on the Fansite List. Add Secrets of the Spiral nowadays! 

2013 (Awesome Accomplishments/ Great Plans)

This year we've gained 300+ members, 200,000 Views and soon the most viewed month of Around the Spiral History! I am very happy I have all of you to read this blog and I hope you stay to read more of my silly/serious rant posts, Wizard101 and Pirate101 Blog Posts I have for y'all. This year has been great and I've had a lot of fun contests, blog posts and each year turns into my favorite year of blogging. I'm ready for blogging next year and the year after that and who knows how many years of blogging! I think this blog is a huge accomplishment and so are you. All of you made this happen, I wouldn't be blogging right now if it wasn't for you. I have many plans for this blog and I hope all of you can stay to see them. After Wizards Unite makes it on the Official Fansite list maybe I'll submit. If I don't make it that's fine, I still think its great to try and to NEVER GIVE UP. If I don't make it, I still have many plans to make great Wizard101 blog posts and of course Pirate101 blog posts. I'm ready to blog about El Dorado and many future Wizard101 worlds. I'm ready to have great Pirate101 contests, Wizard101 contests and most of all I'm ready to Thank All of You for many great years on this blog. This post is to many more years of blogging and maybe I'll update this post each year so y'all can see how each year has done. This year has been the best year and I'm happy that I'm still blogging after four years! Thank you everyone. :D

Santa Clause? No... Santa Rana!

Howdy Pirates!

How have you been? I've been great just questing through Pirate101 on my new character and today questing on Edward Cringle! On my last post I had to get Santo Pollo's strongbox from El Guapo since he stole it and it was full of Santo Pollo's money. El Toro help me defeat El Guapo with this fight, I was kind of surprised since he didn't help me with any of the other fights... Let me mention the ships that I had trouble on but I'm glad Cole helped me. :D We didn't really defeat El Guapo though, he escaped! I ended the day meeting El Toro and I'll continue that now after a two day break!

El Toro wants to go to Castillo Sapo to defeat him since there was a letter addressed to him and the Strongbox is still missing. It looks like we have a criminal on our hands! After I found all of this out, I had to sail there and defeat so many enemies that was protecting his fortress including the Armada so that means he's not only working with the banditoads he's also working with the Armada? Something about this doesn't sound right, maybe confusing.. After defeating all of his enemies, it was time to defeat Santa (not THE Santa, I still hope I'm on the nice list)!

I'm not as strong as El Toro but I think this fight will be pretty easy. :{D

I only had to post one picture of Santa Rana's reaction to how strong we are. I think that photo is funny and I'm going to remember it for awhile! Good thing you switched to our side Froggo or that would be you!

Wow, I take so many pictures! I know I need to stop publishing so many but I can't remember everything they say right? :) I think its better having pictures so you understand what I'm talking about and not as confused as I would be if I didn't have any pictures of the dialog. :D What do you think? Keeping your Wizard101 Account Safe!

I've been wanting to make this post about Account Security for awhile and I know Kingsisle has made quite a few posts on their site about Account Safety so I decided to make a post also. Why do I need to make a blog post about account safety? Well.. I think its important that everyone knows how to keep their account safe from password takers (aka- hackers). If you give away your password for crowns, memberships or whatever someone asks for, all you're doing is giving away your account and your account will be banned. Kingsisle gives you an account password for a reason and they tell everyone every time they log onto Wizard101 to never give away their password. I've been on Wizard101 well over 1000 times and I read that I should never give away my password 1000 times so that means I won't ever give away my account. What ways can you keep your account safe without losing your wizard? I have a few Q&A's below that I think will help you if you want to keep your Wizard.

Question: What should I do when someone tells me they'll give me crowns or a membership if I give them my account information?

Answer: Tell them you're not giving away your password because Kingsisle says so every time you log on the game. The only thing you're going to do is lose your wizard forever. Don't give away your account to someone that won't gift you. Your account might/will be banned if you do.

Question: If someone claiming to be Kingsisle is asking for my account password should I give it to them?

Answer: NO! I've had trouble with people pretending to be me and say they work at Kingsisle. They're pretending so they can get your account information. The only thing they are going to do is ban your account. The only way you should ask for their badge is on the game itself if they say they're, and Kingsisle will NEVER ask for your password. Don't give your password to anyone. You need to keep your password safe and please don't give it up for anything!

Question: I really do want crowns or crown items, are there ways I could get free crowns without worrying about my account security?

Answer: You can view all of the official fansites for contests. If one of your friends says they'll give you a free membership card code/crown code such as ones from gamestop that would seem okay. Don't accept if they say they'll redeem it themselves by logging onto your account. Please keep your password safe and in your hands. 

Question: Should I trust any websites/blogs that hack Kingsisle to give me free crowns/ sites that ask for my password?

Answer: NO! You will be banned if you trust any sites that hack. You'll also be banned if you give away your password to someone. Kingsisle warns you everyday not to give away your password and you should know that. If there's a site you'd like to report, send link of the website to Kingsisle, support@wizard101.com

Question: Where exactly does Kingsisle warn us not to give away our account password?

Answer: There are so many places that Kingsisle warns us about account safety. One place is right when you log in with the log in screen of Wizard101. You'll see right above before you log in that you shouldn't give away your account (click on image below).

As you can see, if you don't give away your password you'll get to keep your wizard.. well, as long as you don't use bad language, bully or anything that goes against Wizard101's Terms of Use. Please keep your account safe. I've made many posts about this and Kingsisle has also warned everyone so there's no way you could say you haven't read that you shouldn't share your password with anyone. I know I said this was only going to be a post about Account Safety but I think I should include links to great online safety posts and links to posts from Kingsisle about account security. I'll label all of the links so you'll know exactly where you're going and what you're reading. If you were wondering before you if should share your password or not with anyone, this post should tell you that you shouldn't. I'm not speaking for Kingsisle by saying this but I think close family that plays Wizard101 with you counts as okay to share your password with. If it's "friends" or a stranger you shouldn't share your password with them or you'll have a chance of being banned if they take your account! Dworgyn's Mistake (Spoilers)

Hello Wizards,

A few hours ago we all found out that Dworgyn made a mistake and gave us information about an upcoming quest/area/gardening thing? Well... We have to agree we all made mistakes right? So don't worry Dworgyn, know that everyone makes mistakes.. This mistake though... is.. EPIC! I was very excited to learn more information about the cave by Nightshade's Tower. This post may not include a lot of spoilers like what exactly is behind that gate but I do believe Dworgyn told us a lot of things. Here's a few pictures I have taken since this mistake was announced..

As I said above in the picture this quest is not active but I believe later it will be. I believe Kingsisle is going to remove it before too many people find out but when bloggers find out a lot more people find out. :D I have to tell everyone since I am a blogger and I blog about news and spoilers when released.. I believe the next update to do with this has to do with gardening plus another new area in Wizard City. Call me crazy but it seems like it would be crazy just to add a gardener back in that cave after many years of everyone wondering what exactly is behind that gate. I believe its a huge area and we'll get to quest through there. What makes me think that? Well the quest gives experience and the other quests with the gardeners didn't give quests... Why would they start now, why not in the beginning? Well.. There's a lot of questions to be asked but I'm not going to say much until Kingsisle releases it. I can't wait to see what they have planned for us. Wizard101 has announced they'll have more on this soon. So watch their social networks and website. Ahoy Pirates!

A few days ago I created a new pirate, a privateer. I named him Edward Donnely! I wanted to create a new pirate so I could level on my own time and enjoy leveling through Pirate101 again without any worry. :D I like introducing my new pirates to you though so you know more about my in game experience. I won't blog about this character after this but I'll give you a few small updates on my other posts but not one main blog post about him since I'm far too busy blogging about my character Edward Cringle. Anyways.. here's a few pictures of him going through the Pirate101 tutorial.

Lol yeah just wanted to add a few random photos to the post to make it a little more interesting. You know I love adding lots of pictures to every post. Well.. I don't know much about the Privateer school other than healing but I'm hoping it'll be easy to quest on a privateer. I'll give you a few small updates on how I'm doing throughout each world.
